Self-Cleaning Screens: A Permanent Fix for Wet Material Clogging

Introduction

Sticky and wet materials often cause screen blinding, leading to reduced efficiency and frequent shutdowns. By upgrading to self-cleaning screens, our client eliminated these problems and significantly improved screening output.

Project Background

The client, a sand-making plant with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons, processed river pebbles with high clay content. Their old woven wire screens frequently blinded during the rainy season, requiring daily manual cleaning.

Our Solution

We proposed self-cleaning screens made of high-manganese V-shaped and crimped wires. These screens use interwoven flexible wires that create vibrating movement during operation, actively preventing material buildup and clogging.

Results Achieved

Continuous 8-hour operation without blinding

35% increase in screening efficiency

90% reduction in manual cleaning

More uniform particle size and better fines recovery

Client Feedback

We used to clean the screens multiple times a day. Now with the anti-clog screens, we can run an entire shift without interruption. Output is noticeably better.

Why Choose Self-Cleaning Screens?

Ideal for wet, sticky, or clay-heavy materials

Longer screen lifespan

Lower maintenance costs

Available in PU-edged, spring steel, and other customizable options
